Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, independently
performs a variety of clinical assays and the associated supporting work for use in the diagnosis,
treatment, and prevention of disease. Performs start-up, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures on instruments and laboratory equipment. Performs quality control and quality assurance procedures as required. Reports results via computer. May specialize in areas such as Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Special Chemistry, Microbiology, or Laboratory Support Services. Special assignments may include training of new employees and teaching Medical Technology students. Coverage includes rotating weekends and holidays. Phlebotomy may be required.
Extremely busy, fast-paced hematology laboratory, routine coagulation includes PT, PTT, Fibrinogen, D-dimer and Heparin Assay. Other sections include: special coagulation, Point of Care and Flow Cytometry. Base hours are 8 am to 430 pm. At least once per week rotate to: 630-3 or 7-3:30, Every 5thweekend, one major holiday. The Schedule is completed for one entire year- March to March.
Must be willing to assume other responsibilities besides bench work to include QC, maintenance, QM, teaching.

40 Hour Day Position
Education: Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science including laboratory internship at an institution certified by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Eligible for certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Registry or by American Medical Technologists (AMT) for Medical Laboratory personnel.
Eligible for 7,000 Sign On Bonus that is paid out in two installments, one after six months of employment and the other one after a year.
