Assumes responsibility for the nursing clinical management of BILH BS programs. Collaborates with the VP of Quality, Safety, Compliance & CNO, Training Manager, Divisional VP’s, Program Managers and allied disciplines to ensure that a safe and therapeutic environment is maintained for all patients admitted to therapeutic community programs. Assumes responsibility for the direction and implementation of nursing policies & procedures ensures compliance with established nursing standards and practices to ensure that LBHS programs meet regulatory requirements.

Job Description:

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:

1. Support BILH BS programs in such a manner that there is a strong and positive commitment to quality patient care.

2. Consult with, give counsel and guidance to Clinical nursing staff and Program Managers concerning hiring, disciplining and terminating nursing staff, problem-solving, orientation and training of nursing staff, patient care and discharge planning, record-keeping and performance evaluations.

2. Interpret and communicate clinical policy, policies and procedures, standards of care, etc. to BILH BS nursing staff.

3. Investigate all incidents, accidents and grievances, involving nursing and follow-up with any required reports and necessary root cause analysis.

4. Assist with quality improvement studies that have a positive patient care outcome.

5. Consult with and advise/inform stakeholders concerning administrative issues, needs and problems.

6. Work collaboratively to update BILH BS nursing policy and procedure manual and provide input into policies and procedures that involve other clinical areas.

7. Recommend changes as needed to improve services. Meet regularly with supervisory staff and committees.

9. Support and implement administrative decisions.

10. Maintain a clear understanding of BILH BS policies and protocols, and practices within those policies and protocols.

11. Maintain understanding of regulatory agencies’ expectations and guidelines (i.e. DMH, DPH, JCAHO, payors, etc.) and assist nursing staff and Program Managers in instituting and maintaining such guidelines.

12. Participate in appropriate system-wide committees

13. Maintain and track annual/bi-annual nursing requirements including but not limited to, CPR, Risk Management and Aggression Management.

14. Assists in writing and tracks NP/Physician collaborative agreements.

15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Leadership positions should describe the type and level of supervision exercised over specific job titles.

This position does not have any direct reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in nursing required, Master’s degree preferred with current registration in Massachusetts. Previous experience in nursing administration or high level supervisory capacity with theoretical as well as practical knowledge of behavioral health and substance use disorders.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities with adaptive abilities and strong interpersonal relations skills. Ability to use sound administrative practices. Works cooperatively and effectively with others and can flexibly adapt to changes in the workplace.

Schedule: FT 40-hrs, Monday-Friday (business hours)
