Position Summary:

Independently patrols hospital grounds and buildings to detect and deter crime and violation of policy. Assists with all building emergencies, to include crisis intervention prevention (de-escalation control and restraint). Must remain flexible in response to change and is responsible for the quality of own work performed. Able to perform computer skills and file investigative reports.

Provides a wide variety of basic maintenance activities to buildings and equipment, including repairs, preventive maintenance, fire and life safety inspections. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, is responsible for the quality of own work. Must remain flexible in response to change.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

High School Graduate or equivalent, including ability to understand and follow directions for detailed work, including safety protocols and policy and procedures. Some college prep courses in Criminal Justice law enforcement and/or experience in hospital security or similar environment preferred. Previous general maintenance experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Ability to operate hand and power tools including lawn mowers and snow blowers.
Certification/License:
1. Current Massachusetts driver's license required.
2. Basic Life Support certification required within 90 days of hire.
