Are you ready to become a part of our dynamic Laboratory team?

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

• Cordially greets and processes outpatients by adhering to all screening procedures such as always obtaining properly completed order forms and patient demographic information. Additional follow-up inquiries may be necessary.
• Participates in hospital customer service initiatives.
• Takes accurate messages and always follows through with requests.
• Addresses customer concerns and complaints when presented, problem solves and directs appropriate resolution within their scope.
• Appropriately handles specimens according to laboratory safety protocol as required.
• Utilizes LIS effectively for result query, label printing, generating collection lists, generating and faxing patient reports, and order entry.
• Logs on and off LIS correctly. Never works under another person's password.
• Always selects correct patient and correct patient encounter. Confirms patient identification using two forms of identification.
• Reconciles missing information on test order forms such as lack of medical necessity, or physician address, by telephoning offices to obtain required information.
• Enters orders correctly.
• Reviews supply inventory daily.
• All other duties as assigned.

Scheduled Hours: 20 hrs/wk, weekend and holiday rotation

Work Shift: Rotating, day/eve - shifts between 630a - 6p

Education Required: High school diploma.

Preferred Experience: 1 year secretarial and/or medical terminology experience preferred
