We’re seeking an exceptional Director, Medical-Surgical Nursing to lead, inspire, and empower our dedicated inpatient nursing team. Your Role at a Glance
In this highly visible role, you will:
- Collaborate with nursing and key leaders to design and implement clinical service models for positive patient outcomes and productivity.
- Develop systems and programs ensuring quality care, evidence-based practices, and desired patient outcomes.
- Partner with the VP/CNO to create and manage annual budgets, monitor variances, and optimize resource utilization.
- Actively contribute to nursing projects, clinical committees, and hospital-wide initiatives.
- Provide educational resources and clinical expertise to support staff development.
- Ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards.

- Demonstrated ability to develop an effective management team; to mentor and coach first-line managers and delegate appropriately to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Fosters an environment of respect for the diversity of patient and employee populations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish a culture that recruits retains and supports staff as evidenced by staff satisfaction results. Must have strong motivational skills and the ability to engage and empower others.
- Experience with, and a genuine commitment to, a professional practice culture of accountability focused on excellent performance in customer service, patient satisfaction, and patient safety.

Registration/Certification/Qualifications:
- A registered nurse eligible for licensure in the State of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business, or a related field or in pursuit of a Master’s degree.
- Ten years of nursing experience with a minimum of five years of progressive nursing leadership experience at the director level in a similar-sized organization.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
