Under the general guidance of the Medical Director and Executive Laboratory Director, this position provides administrative and technical leadership as well as overall management for their Laboratory Section; this includes instrument and test selection, training, procedure review, personnel hiring, evaluation and disciplinary actions, staff development and competency assessment, budget developing and monitoring. The Manager accepts responsibility for the overall managerial and operational functions necessary to ensure fulfillment of the department mission, as well as Winchester Hospital’s mission. The Manager works independently and demonstrates advanced technical and administrative skills in major areas of the laboratory. Coverage includes occasional weekends and holidays.

Job Description:

Education:  Baccalaureate degree including laboratory internship at an institution certified by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).   

Experience:  A minimum of 5-7 years of experience within the specialty area. 

Licensure, Certification, Registration:  American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Registry or by American Medical Technologists (AMT) for Medical Laboratory personnel.
