Contributes to the Hospitals mission to care, heal, and excel in service to our community by teaching a quality health education program at any level. Utilizes compassion, empathy, and respect to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve expected outcomes and meets the highest level of professionalism consistent with a Magnet Hospital. This staff position will have an impact on improving patient safety by providing excellent mentoring and training of clinical staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Required:
*Graduate of a state approved and/or accredited RN program.

*BSN preferred; ADN with current MA, RN license and other required experience and qualifications will be considered

Preferred:

*BSN upon hire

Experience:


Required:

*At least two years in clinical nursing

*Experience as a preceptor or trainer

Preferred:
*At least two years of health education

Other Skills/Knowledge:

*Must maintain excellent teaching skills and enthusiasm for subject matter as identified in evaluations

*Must maintain a current level of expertise in related specialty area

Job Functions

  • Provides training and mentoring to Clinical Assistant (CA) Trainees on patient care which may include personal hygiene tasks with a patient, proper lifting, and vital signs on the clinical site.
  • Works with Nurse Managers at Hospital, HR/Recruitment team and Nursing Staff Development team to adjust training program as necessary.
  • Provides classroom teaching as it pertains to proper patient care and any requirements and areas of focus as directed by the Hospital.
  • Completes all paper work for the class which includes trainee evaluations and communicating any issues or concerns about abilities of trainees.
  • Assesses trainees learning needs and teaches accordingly. 
  • Makes modification to teaching style to meet the needs of the trainees.
