Workday ERP HCM/HRIS Analyst

Under minimal supervision from BILH IT Leadership, The Workday ERP HCM / HRIS Analyst will work with multiple Shared Service teams to perform a variety of IT tasks. The initial focus will be on the implementation / configuration of the newly installed Workday ERP platform, but will also include partnering with existing staff to mentor, educate and assist on knowledge transfer, production of technical specifications (and/or Workday Design Documents), providing high quality system analysis, conducting meetings, adhering to IT system change management processes, as well as completing system and volume tests. The candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to follow and implement a project schedule, have a continuous improvement mindset and be capable of handling multiple priorities concurrently. We are looking for candidates who are excellent communicators, as well as self-starting and energetic. The role will also be capable of rapidly changing priorities, with a strong desire to take on more responsibility, as they grow, and take initiative to handle tasks independently. May also provide oversight of team members’ work on specific projects, as determined by BILH IT Leadership. In addition to working on BILH’s mission-critical enterprise and departmental systems, projects/installations may encompass work across multiple entities throughout BILH landscape.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Delivers high quality analysis and development within established timelines that are compatible with organizational expectations.
  • Works with the user community to fully understand business requests.  May develop functional business requirements as needed that adhere to standard IT Project Methodology.   May advise on system features and/or facilitates communication either within IS or with vendor(s) on options to address the business requests. 
  • Produces technical specifications, data conversion, and/or mapping criteria as determined for assigned projects from which programs will be written.  Remains current on vendors’ changing technologies.
  • Utilizes programming skills, if needed, in the development and support of established IT project lifecycle methodology.  Develops and maintains associated technical documentation and design artifacts.  Conducts unit testing.  May participate in the development and execution of system test plans.
  • Runs effective meetings.  This includes scheduling, preparing an agenda, and insuring that timely minutes are distributed to all invitees.
  • Supports assigned production environments: troubleshoots technical application issues, documents and manages incoming requests whether handled internally in IS or with a vendor.   Understands the interdependencies, internal workings, integration points, and connectivity of assigned systems.  Also, provides back-up support for other team members as needed.
  • Provides training and mentoring to other team and/or department members.  May also provide oversight of team members’ work on specific projects as determined by the IS Applications Manager.
  • May produce, contribute to and /or maintain project plans. (Projects assignments are usually moderate and routine in scope).  Facilitates activities to insure that project milestones and deadlines are met.  Manages and tracks to milestone schedules and deliverables.  Reports on status of projects.
  • Participates in ongoing system, technical, and industry related classes and seminars.

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field is preferred.  In the absence of a Bachelor’s Degree, 8 years in addition to the experience shown below.

Experience:

  • 5 years proven experience working in an Information Services Department, or software vendor organization, within the healthcare industry focusing on all aspects of the HCM landscape, including Core HCM, Payroll, Talent, Benefits, Recruitment, Absence, Reporting, Security, Time & Attendance and Learning.
  • Practical knowledge and experience in application configuration and best business practices.
  • Prior SaaS ERP knowledge is mandatory with an ERP background and experience in Workday
  • Multi-facility, healthcare experience is preferred

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Strong technical diagnostic and analytical skills.  Excellent communications skills (written and oral), presentation skills, interpersonal skills, project management skills, Working knowledge of the IS System Lifecycle.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products. Possesses advanced knowledge of system design, analysis, testing, debugging, and documentation. Must be able to manage/multi-task on several large assigned projects incorporating all aspects of IS.
