Are you an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) ready to take the next step and manage your very own panel of primary care patients?
Beth Israel Lahey Health Primary Care (BILHPC) is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Primary Care Provider to join the team at Reading Internal Medicine.
About the Role:
This is a full-time opportunity designed to support a successful transition into a Primary Care Provider role.

Patient Panel: You will manage your own panel of approximately 1,100 patients.

Daily Volume: See around 12-16 patients per day.

Support: Receive comprehensive clinical training and ongoing support from an extremely collegial staff dedicated to community health.
Schedule & Details:

Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday-Friday, no nights or weekends).

Work Structure: 40 Hours/Week total:

32 Clinical Hours (patient-facing time)
-
8 Designated Administrative Hours (for documentation, results review, care coordination, and in-basket items).

Team Composition: The practice includes:

5 Attending Physicians (MDs)
-
2 Experienced Nurse Practitioners (NPs)

Comprehensive support staff (Medical Assistants, RNs, front desk).

Key Responsibilities:
You will function as an independent clinician within a collaborative care model, responsible for the full scope of primary care:
-
Diagnosis and Treatment: Independently diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses.

Medication Management: Prescribing and managing medications (including controlled substances when necessary).

Diagnostic Evaluation: Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging).

Preventative Care: Delivering comprehensive preventative care and health screenings (e.g., annual physicals, immunizations).

Patient Education: Providing patient counseling on lifestyle, disease management, and health maintenance.

Care Coordination: Making appropriate referrals and ensuring seamless overall care coordination.

Collaboration: Consulting with physician colleagues and the multidisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes.

Advocacy: Championing your patient’s healthcare needs when necessary.
Qualifications:
-
Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

Licensure: Current NP or PA license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Certifications:
-
Current DEA registration.
-
Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration (MCSR).

Experience: Previous experience in primary care or internal medicine is strongly preferred.

Pay Range:
$113,776.00 USD – $170,227.20 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
