Job Description:
Beverly Hospital, located in Beverly Massachusetts is part of the Beth Israel Lahey Health System. Beverly Hospital is a community hospital consisting of 10 operating rooms at the main campus and 4 operating rooms at the Lahey Outpatient Surgery Center located in Danvers, MA.
We provide a wide range of specialties including; orthopedics, gynecology, general, vascular, spine, pediatrics, urology, robotics, and ENT. The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe patient care for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures. In this role, you will assume responsibility for the care of the periOp patient including assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care during the periOp phase of care. You will be responsible for directing and supervising ancillary staff meet members in providing the appropriate level of care in the most safe and efficient manner.
Beverly Hospital is offering a training program in perioperative nursing to four (4) registered nurses who are interested in becoming operating room (OR) nurses. This program is available to all Registered Nurses, preferably those with some perioperative exposure.
The program will begin in September 2024 and will consist of both didactic and clinical education experiences. The precepted clinical experience will continue on a full-time basis until the selected nurses are fully oriented to the Operating Room. Generally, it takes 9 to 12 months to train a new Operating Room nurse. A two-year commitment to the Beverly Hospital Operating Room is expected after completion of orientation.
