PATIENT COORD I

Job Description:

PATIENT COORDINATOR I

The Patient Coordinator I is responsible for patient visit coordination tasks, scheduling and patient pre-registration for the NEBH Spine Center.
1. Responsible for scheduling outpatient appointments according to scheduling protocol.
2. Communicates clearly and appropriately with patients, while demonstrating respect, courtesy, and sensitivity
3. Responsible for pre-registration of patients, patient interviews, and updating the hospital computer system with accurate information. Interviews patients by phone to obtain all required information for hospital records and billing system
4. Answering telephones/voicemail, scheduling, changing, and canceling appointments in a professional and timely manner
5. Assists with in-person patient registration and check out on a rotational/as needed basis
6. Preparing admission paperwork for the next business day
7. Schedule/Fax testing and procedures for patients as necessary
Prior experience in medical scheduling or medical office administrative work preferred. Prior experience with obtaining or coordinating referrals or prior authorizations for treatment preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Monday-Thursday 8:30-5, Friday 8-4:30 - could adjust based on facility needs
