About Mount Auburn Hospital
Mount Auburn Hospital is a 217-bed teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School and is located in Cambridge, MA. Founded in 1886, the hospital is dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare to the residents of surrounding nearby communities. Mount Auburn Hospital is part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, a new healthcare system in Boston, MA and surrounding areas.
Vascular Lab Department Description
The Vascular Lab at Mount Auburn Hospital offers comprehensive diagnostic vascular exams for our patients. The department is comprised of 3 exam rooms in addition to providing coverage for procedures done in Operating Room. Our Vascular Lab is fully accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) formerly known as Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL).

General Expectations and Duties
1. Provides competent compassionate care based on scientific principles
2. Acquires, calculates, and performs preliminary interpretation and comparison to prior exams, then relays the information to the attending physician if results are critical
3. Performs basic tests on equipment and operates equipment adhering to safety instructions of the manufacturer and hospital policy
4. Participates in the teaching and training of students in affiliated programs and housestaff
5. Participates in continuous improvement efforts
6. Provides patient education as necessary both pre- and post-exam
7. Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills based on current ultrasound practice by maintaining CEU requirements
8. Recognizes changes in patient status and reports to attending physician
9. Good interpersonal and communication skills
10. Acquires/maintains competency in use of the electronic medical record
11. Collaborates with various departments to ensure continuity of care
12. Performs all other duties as assigned
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree preferred
2. Current BLS preferred
3. Vascular Lab is open Monday-Friday daytime hours only
4. Available for flexible dayshifts between the hours of 0700 and 1730 or per department needs.
5. Previous experience highly preferred
6. Current RVT, or eligible to take the exam
7. Basic computer skills. Epic experience preferred
