The Manager, Finance, and Budgets supports the Syntellis budgeting system across BILH and is an integral member of the FP&A System Services budgeting team. The Manager is responsible for supporting the hospital facilities through the budget process and assisting with the analysis of performance each month compared to the budget.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to: 
1)    Interact proactively and collaboratively with facility leadership teams regularly
2)    Key role maintaining and supporting the Syntellis budgeting system across BILH
3)    Assists in ongoing training and acts as a point of contact for facilities
4)    Under the direction of Director, FP&A System Services, participates in the budget and resource planning process including but not limited to, the annual planning cycle, periodic forecasting, and scenario analysis, in conjunction with ad-hoc analytics and initiatives for the various business segments. 
5)    Works with facilities on the preparation of recurring budget variance analysis, statistical and narrative reports for the hospitals, working with local Directors of Financial Operations 
6)    Supports the work of the FP&A department to implement a forecast modeling for multiple functional areas
7)    Analyzes capital and business plan requests, and reviews the financial impact of these requests, including, but not limited to, internal rate of return, net revenue impact, etc.
8)    Coordinate, prepare, and analyze quarterly and annual rolling forecasts and prepare reporting on actuals vs. budgeted results, including additional ad-hoc analysis of results
9)    Provide high-quality analytical support for projects, strategic initiatives, and other ad-hoc requirements.
10)    Performs other appropriate duties assigned by the Director, FP&A System Services
11)    Manages, evaluates, and coordinates the employees reporting to this position

•    Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department


Minimum Qualifications: 
Education:
•    Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Healthcare Management


Licensure, Certification & Registration:  
•    MBA and /or CPA preferred but not required


Experience:    
•    5-10 years of progressively increasing experience in healthcare finance.


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
•    Excellent analytical skills. Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
•    Strong proven leadership, project management, and execution skills
•    Superb communication skills, both written and verbal
•    Demonstrated change agent, self-starter, and team player
•    Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities
•    Capable of leading the charge (sometimes from behind) and thinking "out of the box".  Comfortable challenging the status quo while able to work diplomatically to keep stakeholders engaged
•    Able to persuade others and gain commitment
•    Understands the context of the assignments and tasks and able to is be flexible and adaptable to changing roles & priorities
