Welcome to The Herrick House, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health Continuing Care. Our team provides ongoing care to individuals through our assisted living facility. Our teams of nurses, aides, food service, and environmental service employees work to create an environment that supports the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents along with their families.
Education/Experience:
Requires the knowledge and skill to prepare residence meals that are appetizing in appearance and taste and meet resident and The Herrick House expectations. Must have the ability to work within the established food budget. Requires the ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing. A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Food Service Responsibilities:
1. Prepares resident meals in accordance with planned menus, established inventories and standard recipes
2. Assists in menu planning and food preparation for special events
3. Assists in quarterly inventories
4. Performs daily cleaning of assigned kitchen area
5. Follows guidelines as established by Serv-Safe for food preparation
6. Assists in creating new recipes
7. Performs similar and other related duties as required
Food Delivery:
1. Ensures that food presentation is appetizing in appearance and taste
2. Ensures food is served hot
3. Maintains portion control within food service delivery to residents
Pay Range:
$19.68 – $26.49
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
