Food Service Worker
Job Description:
The Café Team Member is responsible for preparing and serving food in the employee café. This includes cooking on the grill, running the register, helping customers in a friendly way, and keeping the café clean and stocked. It’s a mix of food prep and customer service at a manageable pace.
Assembles, serves, and delivers patient and employee meals and department requisitions. Cleans area. Prepares cold food items. Cleans tray carts, work area washes dishes, pots, dish room, and floor. Avoids food waste. Serves food in employee cafeteria. Handles and serves food in accordance with sanitary regulations. Cash register operation/cash handling. Stocks cafeteria with supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
Required:
- At least 6 months of work experience.
- High School Diploma or GED. 2 years of food service, materials management or cashiering experience may be considered in lieu of the High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred:
- Prior Food Service experience with food preparation and assembly
- Customer service experience.
- Cash handling experience.
Other Skills/Knowledge
Required:
- For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team.
- Basic math skills.
- Capability of managing multiple job functions.
Pay Range:
$17.00 – $22.88
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
