The Patient Care Technician will provide basic care activities and provide personal needs, comfort and safety of your patient. The Patient Care Technician assists with the delivery of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The primary responsibility will be focus on performing technical, therapeutic, administrative tasks and procedures for which they have been trained. The Patient Care Technician must demonstrate the ability and willingness to participate in a patient care team as a multi-skilled caregiver responsible for quality of own work and remain flexible in response to change.
Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):
- Vital Signs
- Height and Weight
- Oxygen Saturation
- Reporting all unusual observations to the nurse
- Collecting various specimens for analysis
- Recording and measuring intake and output
- Providing patient with personal care and assisting with daily activities
- Performing basic clinical procedures independently or under the supervision of the RN
- Provide nutritional needs including assisting and ordering room service, setting up meal trays and feeding.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to read/write and perform basic 4 function math
- Desire to help people and/or have aspirations of becoming a healthcare professional
- Basic computer skills (preferred)
- Medical terminology (preferred)
- Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
Certification/License: CNA Certification preferred but not required upon hire
**Every other weekend, every other holiday required.
Pay Range:
$19.50 – $26.24
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
