Job Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Required:  High School Diploma or G.E.D. and Massage Therapy Certificate

Experience:

Required:  At least one year in pregnancy massage and/or massage for cancer patients, as well as Swedish, deep tissue/trigger point massage, and sports massage

Preferred:  Craniosacral, reflexology, myofascial, hot stone and/or Reiki experience

Other Skills/Knowledge:

Required: For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS: 

Required:   Massachusetts Massage Therapy License

Preferred:  National Certification Board for Therapeutic and Bodywork (NCTMB)

  • Reports to the Community Health Programs Supervisor

JOB FUNCTIONS

As part of the Center for Healthy Living team, the Massage Therapist:

  • Assesses individuals for massage, solicits information from the client that will be helpful in developing the most favorable outcomes for the use of the therapy.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of relaxation, and other specific techniques.
  • Provides massage according to the required standards.
  • Completes all paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Maintains equipment by cleaning therapy tables and reporting any damaged equipment to supervisor.
  • Maintains supply inventory by monitoring supply levels, notifies admin staff to order and stock new supplies.
  • Documents patient visit using EPIC

Pay Range:

$50.00 – $50.00

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
