The Director is responsible for leading high-priority integration and transformation projects for Beth Israel Lahey Health (“BILH”), its hospitals, and its clinical units. The Director is a member of BILH’s internal consulting team, which provides advisory and project management support to high-priority initiatives across both clinical and business domains. Potential project examples include: clinical program development, implementation of virtual care models, regulatory reporting and process improvement initiatives.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of the Integration Management Office, the Director manages multiple projects for priority efforts, overseeing the efforts of the project team and ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget. The Director will collaborate with colleagues across BILH, including Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Strategy, and Legal, as well as operational and clinical leaders across the system’s hospitals and other entities.
Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Understands and is able to effectively convey to others integration and transformation priorities. Creates frameworks for assessing potential opportunities to support integration and transformation priorities.
2. Leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of high-priority initiatives. Manages project scope, using project management best practices, and anticipates opportunities and risks proactively to ensure cross-functional teams are meeting key milestones and deliverables.
3. Oversee the project management efforts of the project team, including the development of project structures, workplans, tools, and analyses. Ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. Keep the project team and leadership apprised of progress, escalating any risks or concerns.
4. Partner with Finance and other key stakeholders to develop financial models to evaluate the impact of proposed initiatives. Ensure projects follow a data-driven approach to ensure informed decision-making and solid situational awareness.
5. Facilitate project-related meetings and discussions, helping to create an atmosphere of discovery and bringing discussion to resolution. Present on project direction and recommendations to leadership. Conveys strategic and data-driven information clearly and concisely in verbal, written, and visual communications.
6. May support regulatory reporting efforts including leading project team members in the collection and synthesis of quantitative and qualitative information from across the system.
7. Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across BILH, including Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, Strategy, Legal, and Marketing & Communications, as well as operational and clinical leaders across the system’s hospital and other entities.
8. Support system and local training efforts in project management and process improvement methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management, public health, or related fields required. Master's degree in business administration, healthcare management, public health, or related fields preferred.
2. 10+ years’ related work experience required in consulting, project management, performance/process improvement, or healthcare management.
3. Must have a solid understanding of healthcare operations.
4. Must have experience managing the work of other team members.
5. Demonstrated skills and experience in developing trusted business relationships and managing stakeholders at all leadership levels.
6. Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
7. Experience working in a large, complex healthcare organization.
8. Strong ability to manipulate, synthesize, and present quantitative data.
9. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration and partnership.
10. Strong knowledge of project management and/or process improvement methodologies.
11. Superior ability to convey strategic and data-driven concepts clearly and concisely in verbal, written, and visual communications.
12. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Pay Range:
$140,000.00 USD – $175,000.00 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
