Job Description:

Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, independently

performs a variety of clinical assays and the associated supporting work for use in the diagnosis,

treatment, and prevention of disease. Performs start-up, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures on instruments and laboratory equipment. Performs quality control and quality assurance procedures as required. Reports results via computer. May specialize in areas such as Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Special Chemistry, Microbiology, or Laboratory Support Services. Special assignments may include training of new employees and teaching Medical Technology students.  Coverage includes rotating weekends and holidays. Phlebotomy may be required.

Education:  Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science including laboratory internship at an institution certified by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).

Licensure, Certification, Registration:  Eligible for certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Registry or by American Medical Technologists (AMT) for Medical Laboratory personnel.

 

 

Pay Range:

$38.52 – $51.84

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
