This leadership role is responsible for leading a BILH-wide Center of Capability for Data & Analytics to support data-enabled decision making across the enterprise. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer this person works with IT leaders and business leaders across the enterprise, as well as external partners to define and prioritize strategic objectives, areas of focus, differentiation opportunities and execution plans. Supports data strategy and governance, including the responsible application of AI to generate business use cases and the supporting platforms, warehouse data marts, and applications as necessary to enable insight led decision-making. 
 
Contributes to design and development of data movement (including loading, transforming, and disseminating data to customers) and promotes data-driven decision-making through advanced AI techniques, consumer-driven analytics, marketing, and investment planning across IT. Contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy and ensures alignment with the enterprise’s business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.  

Job Description:

  • Leads the development of strategic data analytics and AI solutions, participates in the assessment of external and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired competitive positioning. 

  • Develops a long-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility, taking into account best practices in the field and changing organizational needs. Defines policies for efficient data management and analytics to and from major systems and cloud services across the organization. 

  • Works with change management and technical experts to manage the data and analytics roadmap for all solutions and related system development lifecycles to improve data management and ensure analytic reporting alignment with the overall architecture roadmap and priorities of the organization. 

  • Works with IT senior leadership in the organization's AI innovation efforts and its role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of business opportunities. Interfaces across departments developing and executing data and analytics strategies and roadmaps in collaboration with operational and business stakeholders. 

  • Identifies business requirements and target areas for improvement to design data and analytics solutions to improve data-enabled decision making across the enterprise. 

  • Oversees enterprise analytics initiatives to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable insights across inpatient, ambulatory, and integrated care environments. Provides strategic leadership on analytics supporting quality, efficiency, care coordination, population health, and information sharing across the continuum of care. Serves as the principal analytics champion for the organization. 

  • Partners with HR and the Support Services leadership teams to enable data-driven workforce strategies, including analytics supporting recruitment, development, retention, and workforce planning. 

  • Provides leadership, coaching and direction to the Support Services leadership team and staff. Partners with senior IT leadership to support education and training to the staff for a well implemented large-scale infrastructure framework. 

  • Serves on IT planning and policymaking committees; drives the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure delivery of value to the enterprise. 

  • Develops and controls the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for applicable functions to ensure it is consistent with overall strategic objectives of IT and the organization and is within the plan. 

  • Additional leadership functions and roles may be assigned including but not limited to: (1) Business Relationship Manager (BRM): Leader assigned to specific hospital entity and/or business unit within the system, the BRM acts as a liaison between IT and the senior leadership at the hospital(s) and/or business unit(s) assigned to foster communication and collaboration in service of the IT business goals. (2) Management of the applicable Cyber Security vendors, facilitate and maintain vendor relationships, contracts, purchases and standards in support of the strategic objectives of IT and the organization.  

 

Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related field, and/or equivalent work experience. 

  • Fifteen (15) or more years of relevant technical and business experience required. 

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of leadership / management experience required. 

  • Preferably five (5) or more years of experience in large, cross-functional teams influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts. 

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organization design, and development. 

  • Strong business acumen with knowledge of healthcare market trends and the associated data, analytics, and intelligence tools required to support them. 

  • Deep technical knowledge of Data and Analytics systems and technologies. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments preferred. 

 

 

Pay Range:

$330,000.00 USD – $370,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.  In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for additional compensation, which may include performance-based incentive bonuses.
