The Executive Director Total Rewards reports to the VP, Compensation and has a dotted line reporting relationship to the EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer at Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) and plays a key role in providing guidance and input into of all aspects of Total Rewards; including Compensation, Benefits, Retirement and Leaves. Provides advanced analytics and recommendations on improved business process design. Looks across all work streams from a Workday perspective to understand impact and relationship to make business process improvement recommendations. Provides input and direction for policy documentation, process improvements, and audits. Lead strategic projects for broad based compensation structure and pay practices. Play a key role in the compensation foundational aspect for the Time & Scheduling project in rolling out a universal Kronos approach. Provide direction in continuing the harmonization of pay practices across BILH entities

Job Description:

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Lead the broad based compensation harmonization project implementation of the new salary structure plan, simplify pay guidelines and ensure alignment with our current pay philosophy and approach to BILH market designations.

2. Provide a consultative approach and technical knowledge to problem solving and making improvements to the HR Total Rewards COEs processes.

3. Works with the project management team and utilizes their resources in support of small and large scale initiatives.

4. Ensure operational excellence, scalability, and data integrity across rewards processes.

5. Creates, monitors, and executes project work plans and revises, as appropriate, to meet changing needs and requirements. Proactively manages changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devises contingency plans. Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path.

6. Ability to work across HR Workday work streams and make recommendations on business process design to improve efficiencies and to maximize Workday operations. Streamline current processes and to evaluate future design for retirement year end calculations, core contribution, and Workday work flow.

7. Assist with the process for the Annual Executive Compensation incentive calculations and communications.

8. Create advanced reports, dashboards, and executive-ready insights.

9. Ensure accuracy and integrity of compensation and benefits data across systems.

10. Serve as a subject matter expert on total rewards programs.

11. Improve process designs and solutions utilizing advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

12. Additional projects as opportunities arise.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

· 10+ years of progressive total rewards experience.

· Deep expertise in compensation strategy, benefits design, and rewards governance.

· Strong financial, analytical, and business acumen.

· Strong expertise in compensation analysis, job architecture, and market pricing.

· Attention to detail and sound judgment.

· Ability to work independently and lead initiatives.

· Advanced Excel skills; experience with HRIS and compensation tools required.

· Proven ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.

· HCM experience with Workday required.

 

 

Pay Range:

$225,000.00 USD – $275,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
