Carpentry functions are performed including various construction, installation, maintenance, and repair work throughout the hospital. All assignments are completed in reasonable time frame as designated by supervisor.

Job Description:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Receives assignments from the carpenter manager and performs duties under minimum supervision on routine tasks. Receives information concerning the tasks and follows instructions and specifics according to diagrams or sketches.

2. Constructs cabinets, bookcases, shelving, and formica countertops; makes computations as necessary; and selects type of wood or other material and equipment to produce desired results. Repairs woodwork, fixtures, wooden equipment, tables, chairs, etc., that are in need of repair. Performs the more difficult work assigned to shop as necessary.

3. Leaves work areas in clean, orderly, and safe condition.

4. Performs other related duties as required or as directed.

5. Works under direction of the Carpenter Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Knowledge of operation of a wide variety of woodworking machinery, use of carpentry tools, and various characteristics of materials, normally acquired through one year of related work experience. Ability to use all equipment safely.

3. Ability to interact with all departments to schedule and perform work assignments.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Good working conditions; exposure to dirt, wood shavings, noise etc., none present to the extent

of being disagreeable.

 

 

Pay Range:

$27.00 – $38.00

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
