Under the general direction of the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer, plans, directs, supervises and coordinates the activities of the Imaging & Cardiovascular Services (Diagnostic X-ray, CT scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, Ultrasound, Stress testing, Echo, Vascular, Cath lab &IR etc.) department. Maintains an effective liaison with the medical staff in providing quality, cost effective, efficient services to all patients in all service venues.

Job Description:

In this role as Director of Imaging & Cardiovascular Services you will responsible for the following:

A. ADMINISTRATIVE:

1. Develops and implements relevant goals and objectives for radiology services consistent with Anna Jaque’s mission and operational and financial objectives. Assesses and communicates departments’ performance in relation to established goals.

2. Plans, organizes, and directs all department activities.

3. Reviews and recommends to Administration all contracts with agencies or programs

which provide adjunct services to those offered by radiology department (i.e. clinical affiliations, etc.).

4. Functions as a liaison for Imaging & Cardiovascular Services.

5. Establishes and maintains communication, both orally and in writing, appropriately and clearly within the department, with the services’ medical directors, administrators, fiscal, nursing and ancillary services as necessary to promote quality patient care and improve services. Interacts respectfully with patients and their families. Is attentive to ensure that the needs of the patients and their families are met and hospital performance standards are followed.

6. Coordinate efforts to improve and sustain a high level of patient satisfaction.

7. Develops and presents administrative reports, annual reports, statistical reports, etc.

8. Evaluates quantitative outcomes of departments’ programs and clinical services utilization.

9. Participates in department manager meetings. Represents or assigns representation of the department at assigned committees, meetings and other internal and external activities. Facilitates departmental staff meetings on a regular basis.

10. Collaborates with COO/CNO and CMO and problem solves to implement clinical and management changes as needed.

11. Establishes and implements policies and procedures for Imaging services operations. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures

12. Communicates needs of department to Administration as appropriate.

13. Monitors the compliance of staff with existing policies and procedures. Maintains technologists’ current AART registration, Massachusetts License in Imaging & Cardiovascular and other relevant licenses and registrations and required CEU credits within Workday.

14. Ensures that employees maintain competencies (position specific and hospital-wide) required for patient population served. Documentation is maintained within the employees’ personnel file.

FISCAL

1. Participates in the development of yearly operating budgets and capital budgets

and ensures the departments operate within the approved budgets.

4. Assists in ensuring appropriate charge system for Imaging & Cardiovascular services.

5. Works collaboratively to ensure the correct scheduling, pre-authorizations, billing and co-pay collections are completed in a timely manner. Maintains knowledge of admitting and billing functions.

G. PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

1. Maintains knowledge of new concepts in the field.

2. Gathers and analyzes statistics in order to forecast future needs for Radiology Department.

3. Develops appropriate marketing plans.

4. Promotes physician and community awareness of services provided and markets services to area physicians, institutions and the community.

5. Assures that Radiology Department is in compliance with all regulatory and accrediting organizations, including but not limited to, Joint Commission, FDA, NRC, OSHA, Department of Public Health and Department of Public Safety

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program, or other healthcare related field.

2. Associates degree required, Bachelor Degree preferred.

3. Current licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) or other related healthcare field.

4. Three to five years of leadership experience. Preferred experience in diagnostic imaging and cardiovascular service functions and broad knowledge of State and federal Imaging and cardiovascular regulations.

 

 

Pay Range:

$125,000.00 USD – $188,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
