Job Description:
The Audiologist is responsible for diagnostic assessment of hearing loss and hearing rehabilitation options. Using clinical judgment select and implement most appropriate evaluation methods for diverse patient needs. Determine if the patient is a hearing aid candidate or would benefit from assistive listening devices. Provide care to patients with implantable hearing technologies including cochlear implants, BAHA and Esteem implants. Obtain telemetry measures in operating room for cochlear implant procedures. Perform and interpret electrophysiologic assessment including VEMP, EcochG and ABR. Work collaboratively with Otolaryngology nursing staff to provide excellent patient care. Review abnormal test results with referring physician. Document all pertinent information in aChart (audiology) TIMS office based system (hearing aid center).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
1. Performs Diagnostic assessment of hearing loss and hearing rehabilitation options
2. Exercises clinical judgment in selecting and implementing most appropriate evaluation methods for diverse patient needs
3. Greets patients, identify oneself as an audiologist and explains hearing and balance testing
4. Reviews results and recommendations to patient regarding diagnostic tests and rehabilitative options
5. Determines if the patient is a hearing aid candidate or would benefit from assistive listening devices
6. Selects appropriate hearing aid device for patient based on audiologic test results.
7. Providse quality ear mold impressions for hearing aids, swim plugs and custom noise protection.
8. Provides appropriate programming of selected amplification device.
9. Provides care to patients with implantable hearing technologies including cochlear implants, BAHA and Esteem implants
10. Performs and interprets electrophysiologic assessment including VEMP, EcochG and ABR
11. Obtains telemetry measures in operating room for cochlear implant procedures
12. Works collaboratively with Otolaryngology nursing staff to provide excellent patient care.
13. Reviews abnormal test results with referring physician 14. Provides written educational material and reviews with patient/family
15. Provides occasional cross coverage at all audiology sites, including Burlington, Peabody and Lexington.
16. Provides patient with written and verbal instructions regarding battery use, care and maintenance of the hearing aid.
17. Troubleshoots repairs devices if possible. 18. Determines if hearing aid needs to be returned to manufacturer for repair.
19. Addresses any issues or concerns the patient or family member may have regarding their hearing aids
20. Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles , Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities.
21. Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies.
22. Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic.
23. Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.

Minimum Qualifications:.
Education:
Masters degree in Audiology
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Licensure in Audiology by state of Massachusetts

Experience:
-Minimum of one year clinical experience in medical – otologic setting. 4th year clinical doctorate placement accepted as one year of clinical experience.
Pay Range:
$85,446.40 USD – $119,641.60 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
