Responsible for, but not limited to the administrative operations of the OP Rehabilitation Department across multiple Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) campuses.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

1.    Resource for all aspects of day-to-day management of OP Rehabilitation administrative staff, including direct coverage at all locations as needed.
2.    Resource for incoming calls to the departments; may provide or direct information to appropriate staff.
3.    Review and follow up of insurance denials for OP Rehabilitation.
4.    Training/mentoring of patient service representatives and patient coordinators specific to OP Rehabilitation
5.    Participates in the coordination of sending, tracking, and receiving patient plans of care to meet payer specific guidelines.
6.    Participates in/coordinates prior and ongoing patient authorization.
7.    Responsible for daily management of “Error” work list including rectifying all charges which aides billing/finance and RIS.
8.    Participates in special projects as identified by the Director.
9.    Works with OP Rehab Clinical Managers to maintain and modify the rehabilitation clinical staff schedules.
10.    Orders office supplies and maintains inventory for all locations.
11.    Coordinates administrative staff schedules, vacations, and weekly time sheets.
12.    Collaborates with clinical staff to provide efficient operation.
13.    Works with Finance and Director Patient Access to stay current on all information that pertains to patient billing, OTC collections, authorization/verification.
14.    Attends monthly and quarterly department meetings and prepares minutes.
15.    Ensures that all patient needs are correctly prioritized and responded to in an appropriate manner
 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

High School degree or equivalent

Licensure, Certification & Registration:

Experience:

1-3 years of experience and 0-1 years of supervisory/management experience

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications, which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access.

  • Ability to summarize and communicate in English moderately complex information in varied written formats to internal and external customers.

  • Ability to verbally communicate complex concepts in English and address sensitive situations, resolve conflicts, negotiate, motivate, and persuade others.

  • Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures, and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.

  • Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work group(s), creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments.

  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s).  Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology

  • Previous healthcare related experience

 

 

Pay Range:

$66,560.00 USD – $106,496.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
