Clinical Cardiologist & Advanced Echocardiographer

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is seeking an experienced full-time BC/BE Clinical Cardiologist with advanced echocardiography expertise to join the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at our main campus in Burlington, MA as the Associate Director of Advanced Echocardiography.   This is an outstanding leadership opportunity to join a nationally respected cardiovascular center known for delivering high-quality, comprehensive heart care.

Position Highlights

  • Co-Lead a busy academic, advanced echocardiography program with:
    • Over 20,000 transthoracic, 3,000 stress and 1,500 transesophageal studies per year. 
    • High volume intraprocedural TEE and structural heart echocardiography. 
    • 23 full time sonographers and 21 cardiology faculty echo readers.
    • Robust echocardiography educational program with dedicated weekly imaging conferences as well as active integration of echo teaching in subspecialty clinical conferences.  
    • Opportunity for continued leadership growth.
  • Provide consultative ambulatory and inpatient cardiology care for complex, referral patients.
  • Strong emphasis on clinical excellence and teaching.  

Ideal Candidate

  • Advanced training in advanced echocardiography as well as 3-5+ years post-fellowship experience.
  • Strong record of academic contributions and education in advanced echocardiography.  Leadership experience preferred.
  • Commitment to exceptional inpatient and outpatient cardiology care.
  • Passion for clinical education.

Academic & Teaching Environment

  • Active teaching role for:
    • 22 fellows across clinical cardiology, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and vascular medicine
    • Medical students and residents through our role as a UMass Chan School of Medicine regional campus
  • All faculty participate in structured educational programs

Division & Program Overview

  • 52 cardiologists supported by 36 experienced Advanced Practitioners in six subspecialties including Advanced Echocardiography, Clinical Cardiology, Advanced Heart Failure, Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Medicine.   
  • Each year, the Division of Cardiology
    • Sees over 50,000 outpatient visits across five sites
    • Performs over 3,000 Cardiac Cath Lab procedures
    • Performs over 3,000 EP Lab procedure

Pay Range:

$400,000.00 USD – $500,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation may be determined based on several factors, that may include education, training, relevant experience, specialty, geography of work location, productivity, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include productivity and quality bonuses.
