Job Summary: The responsibilities of the dosimetrist include (and are not limited to): treatment planning for 3D, IMRT/VMAT, and electron treatments, image fusion, dose summation (including BED/EQD2), participating in quality improvement projects and department committees, training and teaching of students and residents, import/export Dicom data from/to external clinics, supporting IMRT QA.
You will join a team of 8 Dosimetrists that work as a united team to support clinical needs. The Dosimetrists are supported by a synergistic team of 10 Physicists and work closely with 13 exceptional Physicians.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Provide radiation treatment planning services for external beam irradiation. Generate graphically planned cases (3D conformal, IMRT and electron). Monitors correct implementation of treatment plan.
  2. Assist therapists during the CT simulation and treatment set-up processes (when needed) regarding patient treatment plan implementation and efficient use of patient geometry.
  3. Work closely with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to ensure the design high quality treatment plans that can be safely implemented for treatment.
  4. Provide training/teach students, residents, and other staff members in treatment planning. Participate in improvement projects and departmental committees.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Medical dosimetry or associated science required required. Master’s degree in Accredited Dosimetry Program preferred.
  2. 0-1 years related work experience required.
  3. Experience in 3D and IMRT/VMAT treatment planning.
  4. Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. CMD (MDCB) board certification in Medical Dosimetry
  2. Registered radiation therapists and/or ABR/ABMP certified candidates will also be considered.

  6. Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex varied situations.
  7. Team Work: Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.
  8. Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Physical Nature of the Job:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally

 

 

Pay Range:

$120,640.00 USD – $162,366.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
