Job Description:

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Required: Bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology

Experience Preferred: At least one year of exercise stress testing, or cardiac rehab

Other Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Basic Computer Skills

  • EPIC training

  • For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors, and fellow members of the hospital team

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS: 

ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist Certification preferred 

                                   

LIFE SUPPORT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: ACLS

POPULATION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Adults, Geriatrics

JOB FUNCTIONS

As part of the Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab team, this position:

  • Evaluates patient’s stress test to develop an individualized exercise plan.

  • Recommends exercise plan and receives approval from Cardiologist or Pulmonologist.

  • Reviews exercise plan and instructs patient on the proper use of exercise equipment.

  • Reviews rate of exertion scale with patient and explains how each level of the scale is defined.

  • Monitors the patient during their exercise routine, periodically checking blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen saturation.

  • Recommends the proper exercise routine for the patient to continue at home upon discharge from program.

  • Maintains proper function and cleanliness of equipment.

  • Assists with emergency situation when they occur.

 

 

Pay Range:

$28.00 – $37.68

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
