Temporary Manager, Interpreter Services (Per Diem)
Make a Difference in Equitable Patient Care
Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an experienced Temporary Manager, Interpreter Services to lead and oversee language access services for patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and those who are Blind, Deaf, or Hard of Hearing (BDHH). In this key leadership role, you'll ensure high-quality interpreter and translation services while supporting compliance, health equity, and exceptional patient experiences.
What You'll Do
✅ Manage daily interpreter and translation service operations
✅ Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service quality
✅ Supervise contracted interpreters and support performance management
✅ Monitor budget, utilization, and program metrics
✅ Ensure compliance with Title VI, Joint Commission, DPH, and other regulatory requirements
✅ Lead reporting, quality improvement, and accreditation readiness efforts
✅ Develop staff education on interpreter services and culturally competent care
✅ Partner with clinical teams, leadership, and community organizations to enhance language access programs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of experience in interpreter services, healthcare operations, or a related field
- Experience working with LEP and BDHH populations
- Strong knowledge of medical interpreting standards, ethics, and best practices
- Familiarity with Title VI, Joint Commission, and language access regulations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing budgets, contracts, and data reporting
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to cultural competency, diversity, and health equity
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Linguistics, or related field
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Medical Interpreter Certification (CMI, CHI, or equivalent)
Work Environment
- Hospital-based position
- Regular collaboration with clinical and operational teams
- Occasional evening or weekend coverage may be required

Pay Range:
$67,500.00 USD – $94,500.00 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
