Under direction of the Operations and Clinical Managers, the HLA Supervisor oversees daily operation of the Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics laboratory. Key responsibilities include but not limited to;
• Technical Oversight: Directs daily laboratory processes including HLA typing, crossmatching, antibody screening, and chimerism testing.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensures the lab meets all ASHI (American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics) and CLIA regulations, proficiency testing, quality assurance and CAP inspection readiness.
• Staff Management: Manages scheduling, competency assessments, performance evaluations, and ongoing staff training.
• Test Validation and Implementation: Leads and participates in the evaluation, validation, and implementation of new methodologies. Develops, reviews, and maintains SOPs and related documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Histotrac Upgrade and Maintenance: validates and implements HLA software upgrade and EPIC Beaker interface.
Preferred candidates with CHS certification, at least 5 to 8 years of HLA laboratory experience and progressive supervisory/management experience. Position is 100% on site.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology or Biological Science required.
Preferred Education: None.
Required Work Experience: 5 or more year’s full time experience required.
License/Registration/Certification: ASCP certified generalist or categorical Technologist or equivalent accreditation required.
Other: Demonstrates autonomy, critical thinking skills and has skillset required to oversee shift operations.
Capability and capacity to lead multiple projects and assist with staffing needs under the direction of department leadership.
Experience and high proficiency with computers required. Web based application experience, Microsoft applications including excel experience required.

Physical Nature of the Job:
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Job is physical in nature and employee needs to stand and/or move around through the majority of their shift.
Pay Range:
$100,000.00 USD – $135,000.00 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
