40 hpw; 8-hr shifts (9a-5:30p); Mon-Fri

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of the medical records located on the Nursing Unit.
  • Unit Receptionist responsibilities:  telephone, visitor assistance, specimen delivery, phone calls, mail distribution, faxing, and scanning.
  • Is responsible for the performance of clerical duties on the Nursing Unit.
  • Support OR, Anesthesia and PACU areas for chart preparation and QA data collection and entry.
  • Accurately prepares and distributes on call schedule daily.
  • Makes arrival time phone calls to next day’s patients
  • Check patient’s in for surgery
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Ability to organize.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, verbal and written.

Education Required

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English at 12th grade level.

Physical/Environmental Requirements 

This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.  

 

 

Pay Range:

$18.81 – $33.00

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.  The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
