Job Description:

We are looking for an EMS coordinator for the Northshore Market, Beverly, Addison Gilbert, and Anna Jaques Hospitals.  This role will work with our emergency medical services and local fire departments. The coordinator will serve as a liaison for all three hospitals.Duties/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate, meet with, and provide ongoing feedback to EMS agency representatives and hospital leaders to address any performance improvement needs, complaint investigations, and resolution.
  • Promote and maintain positive community relations by initiating and maintaining relationships with various state and local municipality offices and acting as a liaison for any EMS-related activities.
  • Serve as a liaison between Beverly, Addison Gilbert and Anna Jaques Hospitals and EMS while establishing and maintaining open communication between Administration, Emergency Department staff, Physicians, and Ambulance Services.
  • Schedule, organize, and coordinate Morbidity & Mortality and CME sessions for EMS providers in collaboration with the Affiliate Hospital Medical Director to assess relevant educational topics.
  • Keep current with rules and regulations that govern the operation of Emergency Medical Services at both the federal and local levels. Serve as a knowledgeable resource of current and proposed EMS changes nationally and regionally for MA.
  • Participate and attend regional EMS meetings as a representative of Beverly, Addison Gilbert and Anna Jaques Hospitals
  • Host ­­­­­­­­­north market area EMS committee meetings quarterly with EMS service Directors and Fire Chiefs.
  • EMS representative to local and regional public committees.
  • Update ambulance service licenses/ drug licenses on file with the pharmacy and a current list of each EMS service employees.
  • Participates in review and revision of hospital policies.
  • Responsible for auditing EMS run sheets and collecting quality and statistical data consistent with standards and protocols, particularly with patients in whom ALS services were provided.
  • Collaborates with EMS Medical Director to ensure remedial training opportunities and skill maintenance.
  • Review High Acuity Low Occurrence (HALO) transfers out of Beverly, Addison Gilbert and Anna Jaques Hospitals, in collaboration with affiliated Private Ambulance Services.
  • Assist in coordinating medical transports out of hospitals.
  • Review and approve ambulance costs and invoice submission for transfers out of Beverly, Addison, and Anna Jaques Hospitals.

  • 5 years prior clinical experience in emergency services
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Prove ability to organize multiple, complex tasks
  • Prove ability to function independently with minimal supervision
  • Computer and database management skills

Education Required

  • Bachelors Preferred

Registration/Certification

  • Current Licensure as EMT-Paramedic
  • BLS, ACLS & PALS certification

 

 

Pay Range:

$28.85 – $40.87

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
