Under general supervision, ensures that echocardiographic testing procedures are performed according to clinic and departmental policies and standards. Supervises Echocardiograph Technologists engaged in producing echocardiographs for use in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disorders.
Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
1) Supervises echocardiography technicians, nurses and support staff by managing the schedule, workflow. By doing so, ensures efficient operations and the provision of excellent patient care.
2) Ensures that patients’ reports are completed and processed according to department and clinic policies.
3) Oversees the student clinical internship, which includes the provision of hands on training. Evaluates students’ progress.
4) Supports and assists Sonographers in becoming registered.
5) Leads effort in transitioning to digital imaging from analog. Responsible for reporting and storage of echo testing and maintain efficient operations once digital functionality is achieved.
6) Assists the Administrative Director in developing annual capital and operating budgets. Review departments financial performance to contain costs; recommends cost saving opportunities; and develops new programs. Ensures appropriate billing procedures.
7) Assists Administrative Director in ensuring appropriate billing procedures are current and function according to third party insurance carrier, clinic and department policies.
8) Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles, Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities.
9) Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies.
10) Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic.
11) Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.
12) Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.

16) Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited program in cardiac sonography.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Requires ARDMS/RDCS or CCI/RCS accreditation and current basic life support (BLS) OR advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) certification
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: In the absence of any of these skills, demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.
Experience: Requires a minimum of five years experience in echocardiography with some exposure to supervision position
Pay Range:
$51.82 – $77.00
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
