The Lead Medical Assistant is an allied health professional who works closely with clinical and administrative leadership across one or more practices. This role combines hands-on clinical excellence with mentorship and team support.

–Serve as a mentor and resource for Medical Assistants, student externs, and other non-licensed practice staff

–Support staff within and across assigned practices

–Perform all core Medical Assistant duties with demonstrated proficiency in assigned clinical responsibilities

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Support:

  • Serve as a role model and mentor, providing support, training, guidance, and knowledge-sharing to Medical Assistants, student externs, and other non‑licensed staff across assigned practice(s)

  • Provide direction and oversight related to compliance and regulatory matters, escalating concerns to the Practice Manager as appropriate

  • Support team members through workflow, technology, and process changes

  • Partner with Practice Manager(s) to identify and address training needs, promoting a safe environment for delivering and receiving care

Practice & Operational Support:

  • Act as a lead resource in daily office operations

  • Research, prioritize, and follow up on incoming issues addressed to the Practice Manager, including sensitive and confidential matters

  • Collaborate closely with the Practice Manager or designee to determine appropriate actions, referrals, or responses

  • Serve as a liaison with administrative and clinical staff across MAH departments, as requested

  • Support and help maintain patient access

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • 2–3 years of experience demonstrating proficiency in all areas of Medical Assisting

  • Demonstrated MA competencies: (preferred):

    • MA Certificate (preferred)

    • Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting

    • EMT or PCT experience

    • Nursing student (with at least one clinical rotation)

    • Home health aide experience

    • Physician assistant program candidate

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with patients, families, staff, and providers

  • Ability and willingness to mentor, train, and guide others

  • Experience with computer systems and web‑based applications required (Epic experience a plus)

  • Current CPR certification

  • Phlebotomy skills helpful

 

 

Pay Range:

$23.15 – $31.16

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
