The Cardiovascular Imaging Section at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Manager to support a dynamic, nationally recognized cardiovascular research enterprise. The Section is dedicated to advancing cardiovascular care through innovative research in multimodality imaging, including echocardiography, cardiac CT, and cardiac MRI, with a strong emphasis on translating imaging science into improved clinical outcomes.
The Program Manager will serve as the central administrative and operational leader for the Cardiovascular Imaging Section, working closely with physician investigators, statisticians, research assistants, post-doctoral fellows, trainees, and institutional leadership. This role is integral to enabling high impact, clinically relevant research that contributes to national guidelines, informs clinical practice, and is published in leading peer reviewed medical journals.
The Program Manager will function as the primary administrative lead and liaison for the Section under the direction of Dr. Jordan Strom, interacting with all levels of internal and external stakeholders. The position requires exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously within a fast paced academic and clinical research environment.
Key responsibilities include oversight of day-to-day research operations across a broad and expanding portfolio of cardiovascular imaging studies; coordination of multidisciplinary clinical and research teams; support for grant preparation, submission, and post award management (including NIH, foundation, and industry sponsored funding); facilitation of data use agreements and regulatory processes; and personnel management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills, with experience supporting complex, collaborative biomedical research programs.
The Cardiovascular Imaging Section integrates advanced imaging technologies with rigorous clinical research methods to study cardiovascular structure, function, and disease progression, as well as the role of imaging in diagnosis, risk stratification, and treatment decision making. Research is supported by major extramural funding sources, and the Section maintains a strong record of producing influential work that advances the science and practice of cardiovascular imaging.

Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Serves as the administrative resource and liaison for the program, interacting with all levels of personnel, both internal and external.
- Is knowledgeable in all aspects of assigned research trials to be able to evaluate questions and problems.
- Ensures that all program policies and procedures are developed and up to date.
- Maintains daily correspondence (via email and phone) with all team members and external study/project sponsors in a professional and timely manner, archiving records of correspondence per NIH, FDA, and/or other applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
- Develops program-specific performance measures to assess effectiveness and success of program components. Implements data collection processes and communicates performance through periodic reports to working and executive groups.
- Has the authority to direct and support employees daily work activities. Has the direct responsibility to undertake the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews. Direct Reports: 4-6 Indirect Reports: None
- Assists in planning, monitoring and/or managing budget in functional area of department.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years related work experience required, 0-1 years supervisory/management experience required.
- Experience in program and/or project development and implementation.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

Physical Nature of the Job:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally.
Pay Range:
$65,000.00 USD – $119,995.20 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
