RN QUALITY IMPROVEMENT COORDINATOR

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities:

This position will serve as the Quality IT Analyst and database super user. Duties will include database management to ensure data accuracy/integrity and maintenance of the QM software system(s).  Assesses and determines needs for revision within the data systems to assure complete and accurate data.

The Quality IT Analyst supports quality improvement activities by, reporting and analyzing data; identifying and addressing opportunities for improvement; utilizing appropriate analytical tools and techniques to assist in the aggregation, analysis of quality improvement data; assists with the development and promotion of CORE Measures and e-CQM development and reporting. Serves as primary liaison with IT and software vendors to facilitate design and development of tools for data retrieval and analysis.

Data Management: Conducts data validation functions/analysis to ensure data quality and integrity is maintained. Ensures all dictionaries are current, conducts mapping of fields within/between various software products. 

The Quality IT Analyst supports the Quality Department through expert use of MIDAS+/DATAVISION software creating and preparing reports to support the OPPE/FPPE processes for medical staff reappointment.  Assumes responsibility for writing, validating and running monthly/semi-annual reports in MIDAS+/DATAVISION which include and are not limited to:

  • MD profiles (OPPE) Print and assemble.

  • OFI’s

  • Dashboards

  • Design, review and validate custom reports in the QM software system(s)

Promotes teamwork and collaboration among team members and other stakeholders. Uses appropriate meeting management and performance improvement tools and techniques to achieve group objectives. Ensures team activities are reported to the appropriate stakeholders for review and follow up.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's/Masters degree in healthcare related field required.

  • Proficient in use of MIDAS+/DATAVISION software

  • Working knowledge of publicly reported data

  • 5 to 7 years of progressive experience working in compliance, quality assurance/ improvement, or accreditation, within a healthcare setting.

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Microsoft Office software proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Project; Meditech, McKesson and MIDAS+/DATAVISION

  • Knowledge of accreditation, federal and state regulations/requirements and measure specification manuals

  • Excellent analytical skills necessary for preparing reports.

  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of quality/performance improvement methodology and design

  • Demonstrates ability to use PI tools and techniques in an appropriate and effective manner.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Able to organize and prioritize work appropriately.

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, apply and communicate policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Team player who builds effective working relationships

  • Demonstrate ability to strongly embrace and personify the mission of the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth.

Registration/Certification:

  • CPHQ – preferred

Physical/Environmental Requirements

This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.

 

 

Pay Range:

$73,000.00 USD – $149,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
