Job Description:

Sign on bonus up to $3000 (pro-rated for part time)

Schedule: Full time, 40 hours. M-F 6:30a-3pm.

Assumes responsibility for providing skilled, creative, high quality nursing care to patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties and responsibilities in collaboration with other staff. Is accountable for safely managing the administration of medication and monitoring effectiveness. Under the direction of the OTP Nurse Manager, provides methadone dosing services to clinic clientele. Is accountable for safely managing the administration of medication and monitoring effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Records and reports all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the client’s safety status to the Program Director.

  • Collaborates with other members of the team in providing health information and maintenance of the medical record.

  • Responds to client care needs and issues, assists clients with personal hygiene and other activities of daily living. Collaborates with and directs other staff to assist with any client nursing needs.

  • Is expected to participate in treatment team meetings, assist with development of care plans.

  • Conducts nursing assessment and administers medications as ordered. Provides thorough and timely documentation.

  • Assesses patients as needed for impairment.

  • Documents client concerns on a daily basis.

  • Provides patient education and referrals.

  • Enters prescriptions into electronic client record.

  • Transcribes doctor’s orders as needed/required.

  • Generates and reviews reports as needed/required.

  • Adheres to agency medical policies and procedures.

  • Complies with regulations governing controlled substances including but not limited to counting, administering, and documenting of such substances. Maintains adequate inventory of controlled substances.

  • Maintains open communication with Nurse Manager regarding patient needs, changes in status and any medical or psychiatric concerns or emergencies. Completes Incident reports in a timely manner on RL Solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse, and current CPR certification required.

  • Experience working in an addiction treatment setting preferred.

  • Must demonstrate ability to relate to a substance abuse treatment population in a sensitive manner, an interest and willingness to work in a multicultural setting and must share a customer service orientation. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics. Manages difficult or emotional client situations; Responds promptly to client needs and maintains confidentiality

 

 

Pay Range:

$38.76 – $52.17

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
