The Senior Project Manager will lead and oversee Epic Community Connect initiatives, with a primary focus on Ambulatory and Professional Billing (PB) modules. This role also supports specialty workflows, including Orthopedics (Bones) and Cardiology (Cupid), ensuring successful implementation and optimization across diverse clinical areas.
This individual will be responsible for managing project lifecycles from planning through go-live and post-implementation support, coordinating cross-functional teams, and maintaining alignment with organizational and client goals. The ideal candidate brings strong Epic expertise, particularly within Community Connect environments, and excels at driving complex projects in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare setting.
While the role is primarily remote, candidates will need to be accessible to support occasional on-site visits during key phases, including pre-go-live, go-live, and post-go-live activities.
Under the general direction of the IT Director, the Project Management Team provides project management leadership and direction for medium to large-scale critical projects. Creates detailed project plans, project scope documents, and maintains issue lists and other related documentation. Utilizes Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) standard PMO policies and procedures for project management methodology and defining, testing, and installing the information technology clinical applications and other initiatives based upon the user-defined business requirements and best practices. Provides an effective liaison between the business departments, the project committee, and the information services department, as well as external vendors providing IS-related project management services. Provides mentorship and training to other members of the PMO team and IT analysts.
Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
1. Directs and manages complex project development from beginning to end. Typically, ‘medium’ or ‘large’ sized projects working with all levels of BILH leadership will be managed.
2. Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management and stakeholders.
3. Develops full-scale project plans and associated communications documents, as well as track project milestones and deliverables and issue lists.
4. Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
5. Collaborates with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
6. Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
7. Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team.
8. Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations when applicable.
9. Manages changes in project scope, identifies deviations or areas of potential conflict, and devices contingency plans.
10. Mentors and advises IT colleagues on tools, best practices, application project management, and cost and schedule analysis.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
- 8-10 years of related work experience required.
- Experience using of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology
- Experience creating Business Requirements, Project Plans, Project Schedules, and associated project materials
- Experience with supporting both purchased and in-house developed hardware and software applications
- Familiarity with healthcare clinical applications development, support planning, and ongoing applications management
Pay Range:
$114,400.00 USD – $145,600.00 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
