We are seeking a Per Diem Patient Care Counselor (PC) to join our inpatient psychiatric unit. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about behavioral health and patient-centered care who is looking for flexible scheduling and meaningful work in a collaborative setting.
What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient support in an inpatient psychiatric setting
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) while maintaining dignity and safety
- Perform patient observations and report changes in mood, behavior, or physical condition
- Utilize therapeutic communication to build rapport and support recovery
- Follow all unit protocols related to safety, observation levels, and documentation
- Work closely with nursing staff and the interdisciplinary care team
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts LICSW required
- Experience in an inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health setting strongly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of psychiatric conditions, treatment modalities, and crisis intervention
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary care team
- BLS certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe
- Ability to meet the physical and environmental demands of an inpatient psychiatric unit

Pay Range:
$40.00 – $51.74
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
