Assigned to Surgical waiting area to facilitate communication among patients, families/friends, physicians and perioperative staff. Primary function to communicate non-clinical information regarding patient status and progress in Holding, OR, Pacu and SDC throughout the perioperative course. To Facilitate availability of patient families for confidential physician discussions. To facilitate family involvement in perioperative care by assisting with unobtrusive and approved visitation to Holding, Pacu and SDC. To facilitate perioperative service patient and family satisfaction. To assure Patient Advocate involvement in service recovery as needed. To direct patients and families within the waiting areas for Surgery, PAT and Anesthesia consultations.

Qualifications:

Excellent communications skills, the ability to be empathetic and kind. Flexible, able to manage several issues simultaneously. Professional appearance and demeanor.  Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

 

 

Pay Range:

$19.50 – $26.24

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
