Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with AJH surgical services to schedule elective, emergent and all inpatient-outpatient surgical procedures for the surgical providers within the medical practice.
  • Books pre-admission testing appointments, surgical assistants as needed, pre-operative and post-operative appointments per protocol within the medical office.
  • Pre-certifies surgery patients with insurance companies and update as needed.
  • Communicates with patients via phone and mail with all relevant information pertaining to surgical times, dates and instructions.
  • Communicates with providers daily with updates to surgical schedules and cases needing review.
  • Create & maintain financial spreadsheets pertaining to OB & GYN surgery
  • Review & check out surgical appointments monthly (and others as necessary)
  • Create, type, maintain, update and scan provider schedule monthly. Receive provider schedule changes and bump appointments as necessary.
  • Assistant to Practice Manager – Any needed duties
  • Typing, distributing & revision of On Call Schedule
  • Provider pagers – including maintenance & replacement
  • Creation & revision of business & clinical forms – printed & ECW
  • Ordering Business forms, cards, Rx pads & envelopes
  • Ordering provider lab coats
  • Completes other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills

  • Communication: Must possess verbal and written skills to communicate effectively and courteously with a diverse group of professional and non-professional members of the health care team, patients and family/significant others.
  • Must have excellent telephone communication skills and ability to work with electronic medical record.
  • Ability to communicate with staff, providers and patients.

Minimum Education

  • High School education or equivalent

Minimum Work Experience

  • Prior office experience necessary, computer skills necessary.

 

 

Pay Range:

$23.15 – $31.16

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
