Alacia Hodgkins – Nurse Manager/Float Nurse Manager

Name: Alacia Hodgkins

Job Title: Nurse Manager/Float Nurse Manager

Entity: BID Milton

I’m proud to serve as the Nurse Manager of 2East and oversee our Float Nurse team here at BID Milton. My journey with BID Milton began in August 2021, when I joined as a staff nurse on 3North after working at another facility during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, I was looking for a change that would support my well-being while still allowing me to grow as a nurse and take on new challenges.

From day one, I felt welcomed into a culture that values teamwork, learning, and compassion. I started as a staff nurse, then moved into the Resource Nurse role where I began developing leadership skills and learning what it means to effectively support a team. When the 2East Nurse Manager opportunity opened up, I knew it was the right place to take the next step in my nursing career. I had seen how supportive and collaborative the leadership team was, and I knew I would be encouraged to grow and succeed.

I enjoy helping others, and having the opportunity to serve in different roles at the hospital has given me a wide range of experiences that allow me to support in so many ways. I still get the chance to connect in patient-facing moments, while also being available to my staff for guidance and support in a leadership capacity. I truly enjoy the people I work with and feel incredibly grateful to be a part of the leadership team.

What stands out most to me about BID Milton is the culture—it’s not just about providing excellent care, but about supporting each other as professionals and as people. I’m thankful for the leaders and colleagues who have guided me along the way, and I’m excited to continue paying that forward by mentoring others to help them reach their full potential.
