Lynn Giovanetti – Lead Laboratory Assistant

Name: Lynn Giovanetti

Job Title: Lead Laboratory Assistant

Entity: Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth

My ties to this hospital trace back to my birth within its walls, and my family’s dedication to its service has greatly shaped my life. My mother, who was a secretary in the Emergency room here, just retired after almost 50 years of unwavering commitment. Additionally, my sister and aunt have also enjoyed long and fulfilling careers here, with my aunt having served many years alongside the late Dr. Hochstin as his nurse.

As for myself, I began my journey at BIDP nearly 20 years ago, under its former name, Jordan Hospital. Starting in the Emergency Room was an invaluable experience, as I worked alongside my mother as a clinical attendant. With my background in science from UMASS Amherst, I transitioned to a position in the lab shortly thereafter. After nearly two decades at BIDP, I have progressed to the Lead Laboratory Assistant role, and my passion for my responsibilities has only grown stronger. It has been incredibly fulfilling to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional patient care and to ensure that our laboratory’s standards remain high.

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have benefited from the guidance of several mentors including Kathleen Ferrera, Monique Marshall, and Amy Bernardo who have significantly contributed to my professional growth. Their insights have been invaluable in shaping my approach to patient care and team collaboration. It is my intent to engage in meaningful interactions that not only support patients’ needs but also empower our medical team to achieve excellence in their practices. I am grateful that BID has given me a meaningful career.
