Job Description:
Nurse Practitioner Fellow
Dermatology
Lahey Clinic
Fellowship Mission Statement
The demand for dermatology services is escalating nationwide. The aging population and the growth in scope of dermatology practice have added to this demand. Now over 100 years old, Lahey Clinic is an integrated group practice of over 500 physicians. In addition to treating more than 3,000 patients per day from around the world, we are also an important teaching hospital for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses.
To help meet the needs of our patients, Lahey Clinic has developed a unique, intensive, full-time, residency-style program for certified nurse practitioners, which commenced in 2003. Our objective is to provide a two-year course with a thorough didactic and clinical curriculum that will prepare trainees to be valuable providers in any dermatology practice. At the conclusion of the program, trainees sit for the national Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner examination.
In 2022, in its 19th year, the program received accreditation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. We believe that nurse practitioners are an integral force in the practice of medicine today, and dermatology offers many areas for specialization and growth. We hope to expand the presence of advanced practice nurses as providers of dermatology services.
