Enjoy a predictable weekend-only schedule designed to support work-life balance. This position consists of two 10-hour shifts every weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday coverage may be required when holidays fall on a weekend and based on hospital census needs.
Where You’ll Work
You’ll practice exclusively in the inpatient setting at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton, providing care across the hospital, operating room, and emergency department. This role does not include outpatient clinic responsibilities, allowing you to focus on acute surgical care and perioperative management.
What You’ll Do
As a Surgical Physician Assistant, you’ll provide comprehensive inpatient surgical care across the hospital, operating room, and emergency department, working closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams. In this role, you’ll support patients throughout their surgical journey, assisting with perioperative management and clinical decision-making for General Surgery as well as subspecialty services, including Vascular Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery.

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant (PA). The Physician Assistant, reporting to the Chief Medical Officer and under general supervision of the Chief Physician Assistant, serves as a key clinical provider and team member in the treatment and management of the surgical patient in the pre, peri and post-operative setting. The PA’s practice is under the direction of the Chief of Surgery (or designee) and other attending surgeons in a manner consistent with both the Board of Registration in Medicine regulations and hospital policy. Surgical Physician Assistants (PA’s) will primarily cover patients of BID-Milton physicians credentialed in the Department of Surgery. The physician assistant is responsible for the initial assessment and admission of patients; assisting in the evaluation and preparation of patients for surgery; acting as first and second assistant in the operating room; caring for patients following surgery and helping prepare patients for discharge.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree and a graduate of a Physician Assistant program.
- Current license in good standing by the Mass Board of Physician Assistants and must apply and be approved for credentialing.
- Experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant or Robotic Physician Assistant preferred.
- Current ACLS required
- Min Experience: Minimum one (1) year postgraduate experience as a surgical physician assistant preferred.
Pay Range:
$57,368.91 USD – $92,910.98 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
