This is a senior position responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of database systems, to ensure the performance, integrity, availability and security of the databases. This includes planning, design, and deployment of new database applications, handling database disaster recovery, server maintenance, and monitor and maintain system health.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

•    Managing and supporting database server deployment and configuration.
•    Managing and supporting databases High Availability, Disaster Recovery and Security.
•    Implementing Performance Tuning, Query Optimization and database systems health checks.
•    Implement databases and servers maintenance and patching
•    Maintains performance measurement utilities, which support analysis of real time workload, response time and availability, as well as historical data for trend analysis and capacity management.
•    Works with technical staff to implement database software new releases and upgrades as well as managing the physical structure of the database subsystem.
•    Participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure database efficiency and maintenance consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
•    Collaborates with management and personnel from server, storage, and application support teams, as well as other groups within Information System and the medical center.

Required Qualifications:

•    Bachelor's degree required.
•    5+ years related work experience required.
•    5+ years of experience in database administration and development in MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle databases environments. 
•    Experience in Cloud Database Technology (Snowflake, AWS and MS Azure)
•    Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, and using Performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
•    Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, connectivity issues and security issues.
•    Documentation skills for processes and procedures ( creating KBs, runbooks, topology etc )

•    Team Work: Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments.
•    Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner.

 

 

 

Pay Range:

$120,000.00 USD – $140,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
