Reporting jointly to Chief Administrative Officer and Associate Chief Nurse of Ambulatory Operations – RN is responsible for providing clinical leadership and administrative oversight in outpatient areas and the Comprehensive Stroke Program nursing elements. Works as a partner to lead professional nursing practice at the medical center. Leads efforts to improve performance and ensure fiscal responsibility. Maintains current professional knowledge and competencies.
Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
1. May have direct patient care responsibility as determined by the program.
2. Provides oversight of all nursing functions within the Division/Department. Participates in the planning and implementation of division goals, objectives, programs, personnel, resources and equipment. Identifies and implements operational and quality program improvements. Continually updates clinical knowledge and skills through consultation, formal and informal education, and review of literature for self and support team
3. Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training and retention of nursing staff; coordinates work and vacation schedules; processes payroll; performs annual performance reviews; conducts regular staff meeting; works with administration to ensure the smooth running of the unit. Provides cross-coverage within the department as needed.
4. Responsible for budgeting, salary and wage expenditures, volume/revenue production, space, equipment planning and supply chain within the scope of service.
5. Oversees the development, implementation and coordination of clinical pathways, guidelines and protocols in collaboration with the physicians and clinical leaders in the department.
6. Works with team members to oversee the entire patient clinical experience to assure coordination, consolidation and execution of patient care plans through all phases of the specialty service.
7. .Has the direct responsibility to undertake the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews. Direct Reports: More than 7 Indirect Reports:
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master's degree preferred.
2. License Registered Nurse Required., and American Heart Association – Basic Life Support Certificate required.
3. 3-5 years related work experience required and 0-1 years supervisory/management experience required
4. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

Social/Environmental Requirements:

Pay Range:
$150,000.00 USD – $220,000.00 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
