The Marketing Director is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans for an assigned portfolio of accounts within the health system, including member organizations, service lines, and key initiatives. This role serves as the primary marketing partner to organizational and clinical leaders, providing counsel on opportunities to drive growth, build awareness, and strengthen engagement with patients and communities.
The Director is a highly collaborative leader who combines strategic insight with hands-on execution, ensuring marketing initiatives are aligned with both system priorities and local business goals. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Director works closely with senior leaders, physicians, and colleagues to deliver integrated campaigns and programs that achieve measurable results.
Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the assigned service line’s offerings, clinical differentiators, target audiences, and business objectives to ensure marketing strategies directly support growth priorities.
- Stay up to date on the competitive landscape, consumer behavior, referral patterns, and market dynamics to inform campaign strategy and positioning.
- Map and analyze the patient journey for key service lines, identifying opportunities to strengthen awareness, streamline access, and improve engagement at every stage.
- Build strong relationships with physicians, clinical leaders, and operational teams to gain insights that shape authentic and effective marketing strategies.
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies for assigned service lines and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and growth goals.
- Partner with clinical and operational leaders to identify opportunities, address challenges, and design marketing campaigns that drive patient acquisition, volume growth, and engagement.
- Lead the planning, development, execution, and measurement of integrated marketing campaigns for service lines, ensuring they are research-informed, audience-driven, and differentiated in the marketplace.
- Translate service line business objectives into actionable marketing plans that leverage the full mix of channels.
- Oversee the creative development and execution of campaign assets, ensuring consistent brand expression while tailoring messaging to unique service line audiences.
- Use market research, brand trackers, and competitive insights to inform campaign strategies and refine tactics based on performance and learnings.
- Manage agency and vendor partners to deliver effective campaign execution, holding them accountable for quality, performance, and ROI.
- Develop and manage budgets for service line campaigns, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize impact.
- Collaborate across Marketing & Communications to align service line campaigns with system-wide brand strategies and enterprise initiatives.
- Act as a strategic advisor to physicians and service line leadership, providing expert marketing counsel and fostering alignment between business needs and marketing execution.
- Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the marketing team and across service line partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing/Communications, or other related field required.
Licensure, Certification & Registration: N/A
Experience:
- 8+ years of related work experience with hands-on experience with marketing functions, including strategy, research, campaign development, and execution.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Strategic thinker and the ability to partner with cross-functional teams to develop a fully integrated marketing strategy.
- Strong interpersonal communication and political acumen skills and advanced skills to represent the department and health system with other institutional and/or external constituencies.
- Strong skills to produce results and achieve predetermined goals within budget and time constraints.

Pay Range:
$114,000.00 USD – $156,000.00 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
