Job Summary: The Environmental Services Senior Specialist functions under the direction of the Environmental Supervisor, the EVS Senior Specialist performs dispatch and related clerical/data entry duties. Utilizing the appropriate software programs, the Senior Specialist monitors, manages, and maintains the efficient work flow of the Patient Bed Board and the coordination of Environmental Services Associates and Transporters to clean patient rooms, transport patients and respond to all related service requests. Acts as the direct liaison between internal customers and housekeeping staff; is responsible for maintaining open and positive communication that allows for high throughput and excellent patient care.<br><br>

Essential Responsibilities:
- Ensures the smooth operation of the EVS department by responding to requests for cleaning services via telephone, email, and Bed Management Program. Prioritizes departmental response based on the nature of the request or demand. Records, delegates, and monitors housekeeping productivity for timely completion.
- Monitors status of assignments and communicates status to management and/or discharge team; Maintains positive customer and associate relationships by responding quickly and appropriately to inquiries and concerns.
- Handles issues to resolution in effort to improve throughput and patient satisfaction. Escalate outstanding issues that require additional monitoring or follow-up to management. Troubleshoots and resolves potential problems before they result in service issues; makes appropriate service recovery recommendations.
- Promotes team work and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments. Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner. Helps to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.
- Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years related work experience required.
- Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

- Lead experience.

Physical Nature of the Job:
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Job is physical in nature and employee needs to stand and/or move around through the majority of their shift.
Pay Range:
$18.74 – $25.22
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
