As the only Level I Trauma Center north of Boston, the Joseph C. Corkery Emergency Center provides advanced emergency care to patients across Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. Our ED was thoughtfully designed to support efficient, patient centered care and features 36 private patient rooms, dedicated behavioral health spaces, advanced imaging capabilities, and four fully equipped trauma bays.

This role will encompass caring for patients within the emergency department who have been assessed and treated and are awaiting final admission orders.

What You’ll Do:

You will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care while coordinating across the care continuum.

Key responsibilities include:

Clinical Care & Decision Making Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care

Develop culturally competent plans of care based on patient needs Provide age-appropriate and evidence-based nursing interventions

Continuously evaluate and adjust care plans Patient & Family Engagement Build strong relationships with patients and families

Educate patients on conditions, treatments, and preventative care Integrate cultural, spiritual, and personal preferences into care plans Leadership & Collaboration

Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams Support a positive, learning-focused clinical environment

Act as a role model and resource for peers and team members Professional Practice & Growth A

Apply evidence-based practice and clinical scholarship

Maintain competency in technical and specialty nursing skills

Participate in quality improvement and regulatory readiness efforts Delegation & Supervision Safely delegate tasks in accordance with MA Nurse Practice Act (244 CMR 3.0)

Maintain accountability for patient outcomes and delegated tasks​

 

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Licensure & Certification

Active Massachusetts RN license

BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross) and ACLS

 

Skills:

Strong clinical judgment and technical skills

Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities

 

Experience:

One year of nursing experience within Emergency or Critical Care Preferred.

 

 

Pay Range:

$37.00 – $37.00

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
